High grade Essential Oils should always be followed by high grade Carrier Oils (otherwise known as a ‘Base Oil’, 'Fixed Oil' or Vegetable Oil).
We believe that the best products are only produced from the best materials, which is why not only are our Essential Oils scrutinised under analysis, but so are any other products that we use. We have an extensive range of carrier oils including Apricot Oil, Canola (Rapeseed Oil), Fractionated Coconut Oil and Sweet Almond Oil, just to name a few.
Carrier oils are generally produced from cold-pressing nuts, seeds and kernels. An exception to the rule is avocado and olive oil (pit and all are used) which come from the flesh of the fruit. There are of course some more exceptions to this rule, such as fish oil, but fish oil is not usually used with Essential Oils and aromatherapy.
Applying Essential Oils directly to the skin is not reccomended, as most oils will irritate the skin. This is where Carrier Oils shine - they literally 'carry' the Essential Oil, diluting the oil in order to be applied to the skin during massage and topical treatment. When considering using Essential Oils topically, you should always consult your doctior, medical practitioner, or qualified aromatherapist for advice. Knowledge and quality are the most important things when it comes to getting the most out of Essential Oils.
The most popular carrier oils used with Essential Oils and aromatherapy are: Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil, Borage Seed Oil, Camellia Seed Oil (Tea Oil), Coconut Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Virgin Cranberry Seed Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Hazelnut Oil, Hemp Seed Oil, Jojoba Kukui Nut Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Olive Oil, Peanut Oil, Pecan Oil, Pomegranate Seed Oil, Rose Hip Oil, Seabuckthorn Berry Oil, Sesame Oil, Sunflower Oil and Watermelon Seed Oil.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about any of the oils you see here, or if you have questions about any oils you don't see here!
